Young Everyman & Playhouse (YEP) is one of the leading youth theatre groups in the country. Started in 2012 it won the School of the Year award at the 2015 Stage Theatre Awards. Working with Bolland & Lowe I recently spent two sessions photographying some of the students - both as a promotional commission and as a snap shot legacy of the talent of 2016.

I've started a new project with Natural England last month. Over the next year I will be recording some of the activities of their rangers on the Lancashire Coast. It's a job that includes monitoring animal numbers. Here's Rangers Sophie Bray and Sally Collier: checking a bat box together and Sally, using a mercury vapour light with a box under it, to collect and identify moths with eager members of the public.

I've photographed Mr Ken Dodd before and to celebrate his sixtieth year in showbusiness I photographed him again last week.

Seeing Ken to his taxi post shoot the young driver asked "Where to..?" He then checked who was sitting in the back and said "Knotty Ash!!" The living legend smiled as the taxi pulled away.

I don't photograph many bands these days. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to do. Ukebox are a 5 piece ukelele band who play rock and pop and have a great stage presence. Their management wanted their energy captured and we shot 5 set ups including these two. The fab five from left to right are: Scott, Mikey, James, Danny and Steve. They play the London Palladium this Sunday. Rock it boys!

JC Decaux, the French billboard giant, are helping to promote fitness in all it's forms for the month of January with their 'JanJoy' campaign on display boards across the country.

For us it meant a 5am start at Stockport pool to meet some of the UK's best junior swimmers and coaches - and a lot of fun with a ballet class in Manchester!
