Time to dig out the orange hi vis last week to shoot Network Rail's new digital system ORBIS. All the very clever technicians who maintain the UK rail system have now happily abandoned clip boards and bits of paper and are now using ipads and iphone apps to list and confirm all the work they do on the railway.
Leanne Best is one of the UK's talented actresses. A graduate of LIPA, Leanne returned to Liverpool this year to play the lead in Educating Rita at the Liverpool Playhouse. After working together on the poster she found time to sit again for a personal portrait. Leanne was the malevolent lady in black in The Lady In Black II. She's just played an American alongside Bryan Cranston of 'Breaking Bad' fame and she's appearing soon in the ITV 6 part WWII series 'Home Fires.' "I'm actually playing a Liverpudlian for a change so it's easy voice to do."
I haven't seen Richard Linklater's 'Boyhood ' yet - but our son Stan needed a new passport photo so this week we also found time to match a portrait we'd created together on January 7th 2004 when Stan was almost four years old. Now eleven years later - or 4031 days - he's a month away from 15. Looking at the two images together my wife and I were conflicted - simultaneously proud of the man he's becoming and kind of missing the little boy now gone forever. That said, at least Stan can sit still for portraits now...

There's been a lot of great feedback for the new issue of SpinCycle Magazine including our "Two Days on Tour' stories about the Tour of Britain cycle race. Although I love Rapha's high quality cycle clothing that didn't stop us having a gentle dig at them with spoof adverts for 'Cheapa - Northern Cycle Clothing' in a recent issue of Spin Cycle magazine.James Fairbank at Rapha liked our 'bin bag gilet' and 'tea cosy style winter hat' so much he swapped some Rapha classic shorts for the hat and has been wearing it for cyclo-cross.
